About DST Index

The Disturbance Storm Time (DST) index measures the strength of geomagnetic storms. Negative values indicate stronger storms.

  • -20 to +20 nT: Normal
  • -50 to -30 nT: Minor storm
  • -100 to -50 nT: Moderate storm
  • < -100 nT: Strong storm

About Kp Index

The Planetary K-index (Kp) measures geomagnetic activity on a scale from 0-9. Higher values indicate more active conditions.

  • 0-2: Quiet
  • 3-4: Unsettled
  • 5: Minor storm
  • 6+: Moderate to Extreme storm
